Setting a Script Label for a TextFrame

  1. Select the Window – Scripting – Script Label menu item – This will make the Script Label panel visible.

In CS2 you’d use the Window – Automation – Script Label menu instead. The CS2 palette looks similar.
  2. Select the TextFrame you want to set a label for.
  3. Type in the label within the Script Label panel (in one word, all lowercase. Be careful and avoid adding any whitespace).
  4. Then click somewhere else in the pasteboard area to deselect the TextFrame.

You can use the same palette to remove the Script Label from a TextFrame at some later point in time, after which the box becomes a normal TextFrame again.
