Older versions of Active Page Item Runtime/APIDToolAssistant can crash when they try to process data from a newer version - we received a report where someone was experiencing crashes when trying to open documents that had been 'touched' by TextExporter 2.0.7/APIDToolAssistant whereas they still had an older version of TextExporter/Active Page Item Runtime installed.

For the future, we made APIDToolAssistant more intelligent with regards to these situations - APID 1.0.46 and later will detect when they are presented with data from a later version, and will disable themselves - e.g. APID 1.0.46 will be automatically disabled when presented with a document 'touched' by a future version, say, APID 1.5.1.

However, for older versions, we cannot fix the problem any more - the cats are out of the bag. So, if you have unexplained crashes when trying to open documents that come from somewhere else, and you have APIDToolAssistant or Active Page Item Runtime installed - please make sure you have the latest version; that might be all you need to fix it...
