Markdown export for Adobe® InDesign® CS5 and above.
Crawler.ID2MD converts InDesign documents or books into the Markdown format.
Markdown is a plain text formatting syntax that can be converted to HTML and other formats.

Install Overview
Before you start installing, exit out of InDesign.
Please make sure you have the proper version of the APID ToolAssistant plug-in installed (different versions are available for Mac/Win/CS5/CS6/CC…).
If you already have an APID ToolAssistant plug-in installed (e.g. because you use one of our other plug-ins), make sure it is up-to-date.
You will be installing two separate software products: Crawler.ID2MD and APID ToolAssistant. You only need to purchase a license for Crawler.ID2MD. It will continue to work even when the APID ToolAssistant demo lapses. I.e. you do NOT need to purchase an activation for APID ToolAssistant.

APID Install
After downloading the correct APID ToolAssistant for your platform, follow the ‘Installation’ instructions here: https://www.rorohiko.com/apidtoolassistant/

Crawler.ID2MD Install
Copy the unzip-ped Crawler.ID2MD folder into your InDesign Scripts Panel folder: start InDesign, and bring up the scripts palette (it is under the Windows – Utilities – Scripts menu item).
Right-click the User entry, and select Reveal in Finder or Reveal in Explorer from the contextual menu.
A folder called Scripts should open. Inside this Scripts folder is another folder called Scripts Panel. Double-click Scripts Panel to open it. Copy the whole Crawler.ID2MD folder into the Scripts Panel folder.

Usage
Open a document.
If you are opening a document from an older version of InDesign in a newer version, make sure to save the converted document first.
Find the Scripts Panel (Windows – Utilities – Scripts)
Go into the ‘User’ section
Go into the Crawler.ID2MD section
Double-click the Crawler.ID2MD.js entry
A new folder with the same name as your InDesign document should appear next to the InDesign document.
